Not so much a band as the soundtrack to your latest musical religious experience, The Flaming Lips, those nut zippers from Oklahoma touched by genius and led by one man highlight reel Wayne Coyne, are back! So many questions arise as a result. Questions like: will they manage to get their furry costumes through customs? Will Wayne bring the crowd-surfing bubble? Will your super fan mate actually lose his mind when “Do You Realise” ramps up? Will you spontaneously propose to your partner as it climaxes (believe us, it has happened). Maybe the boys will even bust out their famous address book (containing the likes of Ke$ha, Bon Iver and more locally Kevin from Tame Impala), to which they utilised with mind bending results on their latest opus Heady Fwends – an expansive record of collaborations that served to prove that whatever The Flaming Lips touch turns immediately to gold. As Mr. Coyne himself says: life goes fast. It’s hard to make the good things last. Let’s give it a shot!
